The Ossuary Rings of Bastion-Constantinople

Six walls of the dead, holding the city of the living together

Six rings of catacomb-fortification sunk into the Bosphorus headland — begun A.S. 47 when armies ran out of mortar and substituted femurs, expanded with every war dead since, administered by a Mother-Cryptor who knows 46,312 urns and sleeps facing away from the innermost ring.
