Return to Closure Bells
Frontier Chapterhouse
The law holds until third bell
Lor's Frontier Chapterhouse keeps the Bone-Guild monopoly lawful and answers disputed emergency permits with its most prudent ruling: silence.
Codex Ref. I.2.07-201
Lor
The bell closes the gate; the ledger sells the air
Lor shelters the Line's convoys behind bone lattice, filters and closure bells. Storm Wardens govern the deadline; the Breath Office sells the shelter, and the poor learn how much air costs.
Codex Ref. II.4.08-1666
Nine-Bell Night
The district reached shelter; shelter did not keep it alive
This A.S. 201 survey records Lor's undated Nine-Bell Night: the towers rang late, a sealed district suffocated, and the Guild's charter outlived its claim to informality. The cause remains unsettled.
Codex Ref. VII.4.03-1928
Storm Warden Corps
Whoever announces the storm decides when the town stops moving
The Storm Warden Corps keeps Black-Snow Lor alive by watch, bell and seal. Under Ilex Marr, it decides when the town closes and who remains outside.
Codex Ref. VIII.5.16-001
Storm Warden Ilex Marr
The masked bell-hand who decides which lungs belong indoors
Storm Warden Ilex Marr commands Black-Snow Lor's closure bells, wearing a bone-mask no Bureau dares unfasten while the storms arrive wrong.
Codex Ref. III.2.01-009
