Ash Chaplains
Breath is only pastoral after War has taught it to hold
Bureau of War lung-clergy who deploy relic-ash, the Litany of Stones, cadence discipline, and name-silence to keep breach cohorts breathing in obedience under shell, song, and rupture.
Codex Ref. VIII.5.07-001
Belgrade Courts
Where miracle became evidence and silence learned to testify
The Belgrade Courts are the judicial-military scar around Velkara's Shattered Courts, where Maldrake burned, the Danube turned, and silence acquired paperwork.
Codex Ref. II.5.06-121
Bombardment of Bastion-Constantinople
Eleven days when shells, bowels, and Bureau all fired
Maldrake's Wrath-tide guns battered Bastion-Constantinople for eleven days; War printed the dysentery homily faster than medicine arrived.
Codex Ref. VII.5.03-182
Bureau of Orison
Song is for halls; Orison is for war
The field name and fighting face of the Bureau of Orison and Song: licensed breath, saint-dust broadcast, acoustic countermeasure, and silence made jurisdiction.
Codex Ref. VIII.6.02-001
Chorus Absolvers
Elite. Bound. Sung until the relic burns.
The Chorus Absolvers are Orison's Elite choir in chains: chest-mounted vox-relics broadcast hymns that rattle teeth and rupture lungs until the relics burn. The Bureau calls the cost proportionate.
Codex Ref. VIII.5.12-613
Credo Lapidem
Two words; the rest of the breath belongs to the wall
The Shield Paladins' second rank chants Credo Lapidem on each exhale, turning breath into a common brace. War counts the minutes; Doctrine certifies the lungs.
Codex Ref. XIII.1.64-002
Creed Volley
The horn summons; the banner commands
The Creed Volley reserves the Processional Band's horns for Radiant Fusilier intervention in Layered Death's fourth layer. The horn summons; the banner permits fire; neither promises relief.
Codex Ref. XIII.1.64-002
Doctrine of Layered Death
If all layers fail, make the failure expensive
War's breach-holding doctrine arranges panic into five useful layers: wall, charge, ash, rhythm, and the final dividend by which failure becomes legible.
Codex Ref. XIII.1.64-001
Eight Strokes
Count the breath; keep the witness; earn the rotation
A.S. 201 survey of the Eight Strokes: eight sung ignition beats, compulsory for emergency restarts, with a witness and two working hands. The recensions still disagree.
Codex Ref. XIII.1.08-001
Hymnal Auditors
A wrong note is evidence before it is a verdict
Hymnal Auditors compare the Synod's worn hymnbooks against Orison's authorized versions. Soup, fatigue and sabotage may leave the same mark; someone must sign the finding.
Codex Ref. XII.45.02-001
Litany of Stones
One throat keeps iron and powder in the same minute
The Ash Chaplain's breach litany binds Shield-Paladins and Litany-Engineers to one count. Iron braces, powder waits, and a name withheld teaches the cohort what silence costs.
Codex Ref. XIII.1.64-002
Shadow Noon Incident
When noon cast the wrong verdict and men became salt
A.S. 201 No Man's Land field disaster in which a Litany-Engineer advance under contradictory shadow was found upright, singing, booted in Flesh-Mud, and transformed into salt.
Codex Ref. VII.8.10-052
Silence Domes
When bells cannot carry, hands must become bells
Silence Domes are acoustic null palls where command, prayer, cadence, and civic habit die at the teeth; Orison governs the passes, signals, and surviving gestures.
Codex Ref. XIII.1.66-001
The Bureau of War
The Crimson Sash and the Sanctified Bayonet
Founded after the Siege of Vienna so that the Faith would never again beg feudal lords for swords. War raises the levy, baptizes the bayonet, and writes after-action reports indistinguishable from scripture.
Codex Ref. III.2.07-041
Zone Five
The strip where maps confess and mud countersigns
Zone Five is the Synod's contested receipt between living stone and demonic appetite: No-Man's-Land, where mud, bells, shadows, and orders all lie.
Codex Ref. II.5.00-201
